Omega Seamaster 145.007

Description

1968 Omega Chronostop Reference 145.007

Why This Watch Matters This watch was made for driving, and that’s just what it’ll do. Meet the Omega Chronostop. The Full Story This watch sports a simplified chronograph movement that is activated by a single pusher at 2 o’clock. You hold down the pusher in order to record the time, and then, similar to a flyback complication, you release the pusher to set the chronograph hand back to zero. Unfortunately, if you need to count anything beyond sixty seconds, you have to refer to the running of the "regular" minute hand. The beauty of this Omega lies in its peculiarity, as well as its aesthetics. The dial, with its faceted chapter ring, is a matte black that has faded ever so slightly to a navy, and it is separated from the inner dial by a white chapter ring with divisions to one-fifth of a second. The 41mm case and thick, domed, Omega-signed crystal with matching bracelet make this a great summer watch for those who enjoy timing stop-and-go traffic on the way to the beach. The crystal is in good condition, and the dial shows little signs of age. The bracelet does show some light stretch, and is sized for a larger wrist. The luminous dots at each hour indicator are intact except for 6 and 7 o’clock, which show some bruising. The tritium-filled 12 o’clock index has not flaked at all. This is a great vintage Omega if you want something a little different.11375562639, 1968 Omega Chronostop Reference 145.007, Why This Watch Matters This watch was made for driving, and that’s just what it’ll do.
