By "Monocoque" one understands a single case, simply expressed, around such, which can be opened only from above. For this, the watchmaker needs a special opening tool. The technical guide states among other things: The advantage of the monocoque housing is that it allows the housing to be kept exceptionally flat. This housing does not require a sealing ring. Because the case is made from one piece, it is absolutely waterproof. Only the glass ring with glass and tension ring is pressed onto the case and secures the movement from above against the penetration of moisture. In addition to the pure elegance of the style and the perfect waterproofness, the decisive advantage was that the usual gap between the case back and the case, into which dust and moisture could possibly penetrate, causing oxidation and other harmful effects, was avoided. Of course, this "Technical Guide" is included with the watch. Since I cannot and do not want to open the watch myself, in order not to endanger its uniquely beautiful state of preservation, I sought the advice of a watch expert friend of mine, who is familiar with almost all Omega watches. He assigned the reference number 14765-61 sc to the watch. The most unusual thing about this watch is the "Seamaster de ville" lettering, the crosshairs and the partially numerical orientation of the dial. The clock itself is for its age of more than 60 years in almost unbelievably good condition. The photos speak for themselves and need no further explanation. Even on the plexiglass, barely visible, the Omega logo is engraved. The high quality and apparently unworn leather strap appears to be from an outside company. It has an Omega pin buckle attached to it that is in new condition. All in all: A fine example of an early automatic Omega in a unique monocoque case and "special extras", which can't be found anywhere else on the web. By the way, the recommended retail price of Chrono 24 is already for the "normal Seamaster 14765-61-sc" - without the extras "crosshair, partly numeric numerals and Seamaster de ville finish" at 2.087 €! the price is therefore fixed - fixed price
