1967 Omega Seamaster 300 Reference 165.024

Why This Watch Matters The Omega Seamaster 300 is a bonafide dive watch with ties to military and professional divers. It is a great watch for the summer, especially when fitted on a NATO. The Full Story Omega introduced the reference 165.024 in 1962. These watches were purpose-built and were even commissioned by the British Royal Navy. The cases for this model were made by two different case makers. Initially the cases were produced by Huguenin Frères (HF) and later by Centrale Boîtes (CB); this example was produced by the latter, as denoted by the “CB” stamp on the inside caseback. This model has style elements reminiscent of other legendary dive watches. It features “sword hands” similar to those on the Rolex Mil-Sub and it has a wide-set black bezel comparable to the bezel on the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms. The dials on these watches were made with legibility in mind, with the large lume plots. According to Omega, this watch was originally delivered to the U.S. in 1967. This example is honest with a charming patina that only a vintage dive watch that's had a full life could provoke.
