A very rare and precious, Constellation, automatic wristwatch in white gold, diamond-set dial, made for Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, first president of the United Arab Emirates, with Extract from the Archives. The present Constellation “C”, reference BC 168.009, crafted in 18K white gold, was produced in 1967, at a time when Omega’s chronometers were among the most technically assured wristwatches available. According to the Extract from the Archives, it was delivered to Bahrain, situating it firmly within the political and cultural geography of the Gulf during a decisive decade. The case, with its smooth tonneau lines and integrated lugs, embodies the restrained modernism of the late 1960s. Its dial is where discretion yields to distinction. Executed in white gold and punctuated by diamond hour markers, it radiates quiet authority rather than ostentation. Yet the true gravity of this piece lies in the red Arabic inscription across the dial: the name of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Most probably gifted in the late 1960s to a prominent figure, this watch becomes a tangible relic of regional diplomacy, an object that once sat on a wrist at the intersection of politics, power, and personal respect. Accompanied by its Extract from the Archives and presentation box, this Constellation is a chapter of Middle Eastern history rendered in gold, a diplomatic token transformed into horological artifact.
