Renowned as the "Moonwatch," the Speedmaster achieved global fame for being the first watch worn on the moon during the Apollo 11 mission in 1969. This version the 3570.50.00 was produced from 1996 until 2014 making it one of the longest running versions of the Speedmaster and a testament to the quality and longevity of the watch. It comes in a 42mm stainless steel case with the classic ‘twisted’ lugs and fitted with a black fixed tachymetre bezel. The back dial features the printed Omega logo, contrasting white minute/split second markers and luminous baton hour markers, as well as matching white sword hands with sub-dials at 3/6/9 completing the dial. These details are protected by a domed hesalite crystal and powered by the Omega calibre 1861 manual chronograph mechanism, which is protected by the classic ‘NASA qualified’ engraved caseback. Its 5atm (50m/165ft) water resistance is ensured by a polished push/pull crown, with the watch completed by a matching brushed/polished stainless steel bracelet with Omega folding clasp. Originally sold in August 2011 and in mint condition due to marks on the bezel edge, this Speedmaster comes with its original inner and outer box, instruction booklet, cream leatherette, pictogram and international warranty cards.
