The present watch is part of the first version, a limited edition of 7,969 examples. The second version was limited to platinum and made in a series of 69 examples. This attractive wristwatch is immediately identifiable by the Apollo 11 mission badge situated at the 9 o'clock subsidiary dial. The badge comes in silver and gold, for the steel and platinum model respectively. The lot is accompanied by a medal bearing the same design, and of the same diameter as the watch. The present watch pays further homage to the time of lunar landing on this mission. It is proudly scripted in red to read: 02:56 GMT, and is centralised below the 12 o'clock position.
