Description: OMEGA, Seamaster, 1200m Ploprof (short for Plongeur Professionnel , meaning “Professional Diver” in French) is OMEGA’s most extreme dive watch, originally developed in the 1960's and 1970's for deep-sea exploration. At the time, commercial saturation diving was advancing rapidly, and OMEGA collaborated with Comex (Compagnie Maritime d'Expertises) and legendary oceanographer Jacques Cousteau to create a watch capable of withstanding extreme underwater conditions. In 2009 OMEGA revived the Ploprof with modern technology, including a stainless steel model such as this one , that retains its iconic design whilst incorporating updated materials and a co-axial movement for improved performance.
