Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch ST 145.022 74

Omega's Speedmaster, first released in 1957, has had a long and fruitful history as NASA's go-to watch for space exploration. In 1969, it joined Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins on Apollo XI, and became the first watch worn on the moon. The Speedmaster 145.022 was originally produced for a few short years from 1968, and some received an updated caseback from Omega following the moon landings. That caseback was the first example of the one seen today, including on this watch, celebrating the joint achievement of Omega and NASA in getting the Speedmaster to the moon. Its rarity makes it an ideal addition to any vintage collection. This Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch ST 145.022 74 has a black baton dial and a bracelet strap. Due to age, this Omega may not fall within our typical expected tolerances for timekeeping, and is no longer suitable for use in wet environments or submersion in water. In the interests of preserving original features, utmost care has been taken to sympathetically restore this watch. It has also been referenced against technical documents and manufacturer records where available to ensure authenticity and a clean history.
