Mondia was part of the Movado-Zenith-Mondia conglomerate of reputable Swiss watch manufacturers at the time, bundling forces to conquer a larger market. This watch features a fairly large for its age case made from stainless steel, measuring 36mm in diameter and just under 11mm in thickness. The dial on this particular example comes in a gorgeous silver tone with sunburst finish. The polished steel and black accents of the raised indices and hands contrast nicely with the dial colour, and a date window can be found at the 3 O'Clock position. Inside the watch we find a renowned Mondia signed and gorgeously finished A. Schild 1883 automatic movement, which is working perfectly. The example sold here has been worn throughout its life, but is still in decent condition considering its age. You will certainly find wear marks on the case, but no overly coarse damage. Most notable is a ding to the bezel near the crown. Said case is unpolished and therefore in original shape, with sharp edges and curves. The crown is unsigned and shows some wear as well. The watch face has stood the test of time fairly well, with minor marks here and there. Please study the pictures in this listing well: they show the watch in the condition that it is in, with no digital enhancements to make it look better than it is. We are sure that you like honesty, and so do we. Functionally, the watch has received a full service prior to sale and is working perfectly. The movement was entirely disassembled, cleaned, lubricated and regulated. The caseback gasket and crystal are brand new.
