MB&F LM PERPETUAL 03.PLD.B

Description

MB&F LM Perpetual Palladium 03.PLD.B

The MB&F LM Perpetual ref. 03.PLD.B is an exceptional timepiece resulting from a collaboration between MB&F and independent watchmaker Stephen McDonnell. This intensely innovative perpetual calendar timepiece combines contemporary aesthetics and traditional craftsmanship in such a way that is truly revolutionary, much like so many MB&F timepieces that have come before it. First launched in 2015, the LM Perpetual has become a signature within MB&F’s offering thanks to its unconventional and legible display that features the calendar indications—day, date, and month—and a subtle leap year indication within the three sub-dials that are integrated within the Stephen McDonnell-designed movement. This in-house, hand-wound movement has a 72-hour power reserve and is encased within a palladium case that measures 44mm in diameter and 17.5mm in height. With its visually striking suspended balance wheel, which oscillates at 18,000 vibrations per hour, showcasing the ingenuity and artistic vision of MB&F and Stephen McDonnell, the MB&F LM Perpetual ref. 03.PLD.B and all of its sister variants are a remarkable fusion of cutting-edge design and traditional watchmaking expertise, featuring a unique perpetual calendar mechanism, captivating aesthetics and craftsmanship that pays homage to “19th century style” as MB&F puts it themselves. This particular Palladium variant, is limited to 25 pieces and features the newer EVO style pushers that are more ergonomic when compared with previous iterations. THE DIAL With its aquamarine dial providing a stunning burst of color to the LM Perpetual's construction, the star of the show is still the LM Perpetual's mechanics, a lot of which are proudly on display on top of its aquamarine dial as MB&F show off their hard work and Stephen McDonnell's ingeniously designed movement. THE CONSTRUCTION While its 44mm x 17.5mm palladium construction sounds huge, the LM Perpetual is actually rather wearable within the context of MB&F's typically whacky designs with a conventionally circular case shape, thin flat bezel and traditional lug design.
