Massena Lab Geometer Chronograph Limited Edition

Announced in early 2022, the Massena Lab Geometer Chronograph is a tribute to what they consider “a little-known vintage chronograph, which has long been considered something of a grail watch for a niche of vintage watch enthusiasts and collectors”. The watch in question is the Rodania Geometer, a notoriously difficult to find chronograph launched in 1954 that bears a striking resemblance to the Omega Speedmaster, a watch that only released in 1957. Launched as a 99-piece limited edition collection, the Massena Lab Geometer takes direct inspiration from the Rodania Geometer, with all of its aesthetic attributes directly derived from its mid-century inspiration. Boasting a 39mm stainless steel case that stands 9mm tall, the Geometer features a domed acrylic crystal that boasts anti-scratch treatment and resides above a tropical tri-compax display that echos the aged appearance of the black dial examples of the Rodania Geometer. Powered by the manual-wind Sellitea cal. SW510 M Elaboré movement, the Geometer is a wonderful fusion of mid-century design aesthetics and modern horology. All in all, the Geometer features the level of detail required to produce a masterful remake of the watches of yesteryear, something Massena Labs has shown time and time again that they are more than capable of achieving. Additionally, its lume is gently aged. THE CONSTRUCTION Sporting a 39mm stainless steel case, the Massena Lab Geometer comes in just 1mm larger than the Rodania Geometer, with a modern twist being infused within its mid-century inspiration. Additionally, its lugs are ever-so-slightly boxier than the Rodania's.
