Maitres du Temps ref. C3R.00.00.110 Chapter 3 Reveal “Piece Unique”

Up for grabs is a Maîtres du Temps Chapter Three “Reveal” by Kari Voutilainen and Andreas Strehler — Ref. C3R.00.00.110. Maîtres du Temps, founded in 2005, was built on the idea of collaborative watchmaking, bringing together leading independents to create singular, concept-driven pieces. The Chapter Three, introduced in 2012, is the result of two of the most respected minds in modern horology: Kari Voutilainen and Andreas Strehler. At first glance, the watch presents a restrained dial with date at 2, moonphase at 4:30, and small seconds at 8. The “Reveal” concept comes to life when the crown pusher is activated, opening two panels to display a day/night roller at 12 and a second time zone via twin rollers at 6. The mechanism is both theatrical and highly technical, with instantaneous transitions as the rollers advance. A corrector at 9 allows independent adjustment when setting local time. Produced in just 50 pieces in white gold, this example is further distinguished as a unique commission. Instead of the traditional sun and moon, the day/night display features custom cartoon-style graphics, adding a playful element to an otherwise highly technical watch. According to my sources and research, this watch was originally commissioned by Ming Thein, who founded MING watch brand. Powering the piece is the calibre SHC03, developed specifically for the Chapter Three. The movement architecture is as compelling as the dial side, offering a clear view of the roller mechanisms and the collaboration between its creators. These watches are 42mm and this one remain in excellent used condition with its original strap and white gold buckle. This watch comes as a complete set with Maitres du Temps boxes, manual, and certificate with all matching numbers.
