A rare, large vintage wristwatch. The design and quality of the Longines watches of the 1940s and 1950s were unsurpassed compared to the competition of the time. Apart from the famous 13ZN chronographs, this success can be attributed to the oversized timepieces with their extremely clean and minimalist dial layouts in a classic style. The movements are among the best made in existence. This piece is simply stunning. With a 37 mm stainless steel case – a revolutionary size in its time - and a flat bezel that makes it appear even larger, the watch is a true eye-catcher on the wrist. The minimalist dial design further emphasizes the generous case proportions, as much of the surface remains blank. The indexes combine Arabic numerals with silver-toned dots. It has aged charmingly, showing an attractive, even patina, along with gracefully curved blued hands. The watch is powered by the reliable proprietary calibre 12.68Z, which is the same movement used in the famous Longines 'Hour Angle' aviator navigation watch.
