Longines: An Early and Unusual Shaped Wristwatch, signed Longines, circa 1906, (calibre 12.91) manual wound lever movement numbered 2292503 , silvered dial with enamel Arabic numerals, hinged lugs, secured with four screws to the sides, case back with a Russian 56 gold stamp mark 29mm by 45mm, Sold with a photocopy of a letter written to the vendor by the Longines Museum curator in Switzerland, stating “The serial number 2’292’503 identifies a gilded steel wristwatch for ladies, fitted with the Longines manufacture caliber 12.91, that was first produced in 1906. It was invoiced to Messrs Schwob & Sons in St Petersburg, who were for many years our agent for Russia, on 26.03.1910.” , This watch was possibly re-cased in Russia circa 1910 from the original gilded steel as quoted in the Longines archives to this watch case which has the Russian 56 gold stamp mark.
