The legendary lip model T18 Original
meeting the expectations of discerning enthusiasts looking for a watch with a design inherited from the Art Deco era, lip, under the direction of Pierre-Alain bérard, is re-launching the famous original T18, this time equipped with a hand-wound mechanical caliber. The dimensions and design are largely inspired by the movement developed by André Donat from 1931 onwards.
The new lip management chose to relaunch the most famous of all T18s: the gold-plated one presented to Winston Churchill in 1948. For the occasion, its case was slightly enlarged to suit current trends, and made of stainless steel covered with two thick layers of solid gold, each 5 microns thick: the first in 18-carat and the second in 24-carat.
This exceptional timepiece, produced in just 180 numbered pieces, features a dial inspired by the period model, with hand-applied relief numerals and a small second hand positioned at 6 o'clock. It is adorned with a slightly curved rectangular sapphire crystal, anti-reflective treated for optimal legibility.
It comes with an alligator strap, handcrafted in the Sibra workshops in Besançon.
This timepiece, an icon of the 1930s-1940s, is equipped with Lip's T18 hand-wound mechanical movement. Its components faithfully reproduce the dimensions of the original ones, and are manufactured in Switzerland by the famous La Joux-Perret factory. Finishing and decoration are carried out entirely in the Doubs region, at Roland Bailly sas. The movement is then assembled in Besançon by Humbert-Droz, before being cased and tested in the Besançon lip workshops.
