Description

LIP. - Lot 73

LIP. Nautic-ski, ref. 7180. Circa 2015. Steel wristwatch. Round case, screw-down transparent caseback. Blue dial, applied indexes, luminescent hands, central second hand, date window, signed. Signed automatic movement. Tropical strap. Signed pin buckle. Diameter 38 mm. With a box. Provenance: Collection of an enthusiast. Produced in 1967 to celebrate the brand's centenary, the Lip Nautic-Ski remains in the history of watchmaking the first French watch waterproof to a depth of 200 meters. Associated with the legendary figure of the maritime world, Éric Tabarly, this cult model was officially launched for the Grenoble Olympic Games in 1968. Reissued in 2014, our example is a contemporary version of the original model. CONDITION REPORT (given for information purposes only): Movement operational at the time of catalog writing. Scratches and scuffs from use on the bezel. Revision recommended. Please note that all watches are sold as is. No guarantee on operation. Most watches have been opened to identify the type and quality of the movement, including water-resistant watches, so the buyer is advised to consult a watchmaker to review the watch's water resistance.
