Complications of this type are uncommon, and rattrapante mechanisms were reserved for higher-grade chronographs intended for professional or scientific use. The watch is housed in what appears to be a silver-plated case, well preserved with sharp details and excellent overall presentation. The dial is clean and highly legible, showing remarkable condition for its age. Inside is a manual-winding Swiss split-seconds chronograph movement, functioning correctly. It runs perfectly, with chronograph and rattrapante mechanisms operating as they should, which is increasingly rare for complex chronographs of this period. Condition overall is great, especially considering the technical complexity and age of the piece. An exceptional example for collectors of early Swiss chronographs, Leonidas / pre-Heuer history, or rattrapante complications, and something that would sit comfortably in a serious vintage collection.
