In 1964, Leonidas merged with Heuer to form Heuer-Leonidas S.A., combining Leonidas’s stopwatch expertise with Heuer’s chronograph innovations—especially impactful for the U.S. market. The Leonidas name was gradually phased out after the merger. In 1985, the TAG Group acquired Heuer-Leonidas and the brand became TAG Heuer. This piece sits at the desirable pre-merger crossroads of that lineage—Heuer-adjacent history with the charm of a mid-century dress watch in an unusually jumbo 38mm case.
