Ive only ever seen this model referenced three times before I found this one. All others were Lemania signed dials. This one, a full blooded Lemania has a sterile dial but signed Lemania bridge. The condition is almost mint. It has been worn but is in fantasic condition. There is one very micro small ding at 10 o'clock on the case edge. It even has the paint applied triange at 12 o'clock on the biodirectional bezel. From what I can see this case comes from 1979 to the early 1980's. Ive seen it described as a South African Viggen follow up but have seen no pictures of pilots wearing it. It is about the easiest watch in the world to read at a glance. The big orange lollipop hand is totally unique. The big lume plots still work and the dial and hands are mint. Its on a brand new rally strap and looks great! And has just had a full service from my excellent watchmaker in Hong Kong, everything works as it should and resets perfectly. The special feature of this example is undoubtedly the RARITY & the almost unworn minty condition. A flawless dial and a near mint case with speak for themselves. A nice contrast and good legibility are guaranteed by the big lumed white plots. The 11001 Lemania case has a diameter of 38mm and a relatively flat profile. This makes it look great and makes it very comfortable on the wrist. The look is large but the reality is its a thin and very light wearable watch. The the Lollipop is powered by the coveted and relatively uncommon workhorse, the Lemania 872 manual wind caliber. CONDITION REPORT Dial: flawless black surface - original and 100% intact lume in hour markers and hands - signed "SWISS MADE". Case: lightly worn - one tiny ding at 10 o'clock. Razor-sharp edges, all correct, all beautiful. Movement: manual caliber Lemania 872 - works perfectly - and sports the Lemania signed bridge. OVERALL A RARE vintage Lemania Chronograph in near mint condition. Add to that an the sterile dial & the Lemania 872 movement its an impressive beast with a very sporty, classy, look I am a longtime collector, seller and trader.
