This piece is an evolution of his Tsunami “As Time Goes By” atelier watch, first revealed in Geneva in 2024, now thoughtfully reinterpreted for Kurono Tokyo. The design features high-polished steel applied star-shaped indices combined with a distinctive Art Deco typeface, carefully crafted by Hajime-sensei character by character. Inspired by the aesthetic language of the 1930s, the star motif was originally intended for the Tsunami project but could not be realized at the time due to manufacturing complexity. With refined production techniques, the stars are now brought to life, opening the door for further creative exploration of this design direction. This 2025 special project reflects both historical inspiration and modern execution, marking a meaningful step in Asaoka’s evolving design vision. ordered it myself on the release day and have only tried it on a few times. The watch is in perfect condition with absolutely no scratches or signs of use. Practically like new.
