The Kurono Tokyo Star Dial "Copper" is an extremely special timepiece, part of a series of projects dear to master watchmaker Hajime Asaoka. It is the Kurono adaptation of his Tsunami "As Time Goes By" workshop watch, unveiled in Geneva in 2024. Specifically redesigned for Kurono Tokyo, this version adopts a refined Art Deco aesthetic, embodied by Arabic numerals caligraphed character by character by Hajime Asaoka himself, and applied star-shaped polished steel hour-markers - a first for Kurono. The dial features alternating textures: a brushed copper/pink soleillé minute track and center, contrasted by an ivory matte ring. The whole evokes the mythical star watches of the '50s, such as the Stelline.
