Kurono Tokyo Azuki Anniversary Calendrier

Founded in 2018 as a means for legendary Japanese watchmaker Hajime Asaoka to create serial production pieces, Kurono Tokyo stands as one of the most exciting microbrands in today's watchmaking industry. With Hajime's reputation as an exceptional watchmaker secured from decades of recognition for designing one-off timepieces in close collaboration with his clients, it was never in doubt that his serial production brand would take off. Launched in 2023 as an expansion of the complications that Kurono Tokyo offers, the Azuki Calendrier introduced a triple calendar complication to the brand’s repertoire. Boasting a maroon red dial with twin subdials for the month and day along with a date aperture at 6 o’clock, the Azuki’s dial is intensely legible and elegant. Surrounded by a coin-edge texture bezel, the Azuki’s 38mm stainless steel case reflects the same sense of elegance that Azuki’s “Kurono hands” have come to represent over the last 6 years. Powered by a Miyota cal. 9122 movement, the Azuki features a central running seconds hand – a rare inclusion in a triple calendar, making this watch even more special than it already is. THE DIAL A deep shade of maroon red, the Azuki's display can transform from a shade of dark brown to a shade of bright crimson and everything in between. THE CONSTRUCTION Measuring 38mm in diameter and boasting a coin-edge texture bezel along with a heavily domed sapphire crystal, the Azuki speaks to the mid-century design language that typically informs Kurono Tokyo's timepieces. TIMING MACHINE READOUT This reading was taken (crown down) with a ONEOF Accuracy Boutique Edition timing machine at time of cataloging. It is provided as a courtesy only, and shall not be construed as a warranty or guarantee of any kind.
