KAVENTSMANN VANDAL BRONZO 1 OF 1 OMEGA ROTOR 42mm SWISS AUTOMATIC SAPPHIRE GLASS

Here is an Incredible Kaventsmann with an Incredible History!! This Bronzo is a 1 of 1…the only Vandal with Omega Rotor, Sapphire Crystal & Blue Lumed hands…This watch has been upgraded by a good friend of mine…many of you “Kaventsmann Faithful” know him…I’ll protect his identity but just say his initials are GW… Here is the story behind this fantastic watch…in his own words: “ that watch has got all kinds of history. I’ve actually got the story and pics on my work tablet… It started life as a Damsel with a cracked crystal and bad crown tube; a guy couldn’t get ahold of Mike and asked if I could help him out. Traded him a nice Trigger for it since I had decent comms with Kav back then. Wrong. Mike ran me around for a year or so. At one point I randomly paypal’d him $300 with the note “damsel parts”. His sister responded immediately: “Mike thanks you and says he will get your crystal and parts out this week. Nothing. After a couple more years and many broken kavs, my skill set had improved and I got tired of looking at it on my bench. I machined it to be a sapphire sandwich, adding some thick seals, titanium hands, high quality sapphire, lumed/cerakoted a new dial, added a gold Omega rotor/pinion stack, and a deepsea crown tube. I wore it as a reliable field watch during the Myanmar fiasco and gave it to a British counterpart. The weird witchy energy of the watch world ensued and it ended up back with Michael for a service. He reached out and was irritated the customer wanted a warranty service on a watch and that wasn’t his design,etc. … the balls. I sent the $300 PayPal receipt from years before, highlighted he still owed me 4 watches (now 3 to date), and I had fixed way too many Kavs for customers who couldn’t reach him. He apologized, offered up his customary “free watch” for my patience and continued support (if I kept him to that, it’d be well over 20 watches owed)… and he complimented the design. Hell yes he did. Soon after he made 10 of the exact watch, calling it ‘The Vandal’… I guess that was a shot? He’s used the same design repeatedly since . I later saw my watch listed – looked like someone had taken it apart and not assembled it correctly, as the crystal was off center; the lume on the hour hand was cracked and it was missing lug bars – the guy claimed it came from Mike like this (?) – I offered to fix it up but he wanted out of it. bought it and gave it a quick overhaul, adding blue lume to the hands. A client had a Trigger that needed a crown tube and couldn’t reach Mike – he didn’t trust it any longer and wanted something reliable – I sent him the damsel/mini-trigger/vandal and fixed up his Trigger to sell. As far as sale goes; it’s rare and the precursor to everything from the Trigger 3 and after. It’s the first Kav with a sapphire crystal and I’m assuming it’s now considered #1 of the series?? It would be the only one with those hands, lumed dial, and Omega rotor/pinions. Judging by the scratches I’ve seen on pics of other Vandals, he used mineral crystal on the rest. I believe it to be one of the most reliable Kavs ever made and it’s a pretty cool little spy field watch. It’s really easy to work on and the sapphire are just flat crystals, readily available. The seals are my go-to, top grade, Viton – also easy to procure. Hope that helps.
