Jewelled three quarter plate gilt brass movement with dual mainsprings, English lever escapement, bi-metal split compensation balance, finely engraved gilt dial with apertures bearing black Roman numerals banded by outer floral wreath, subsidiary dials for running seconds and power reserve indication at six and twelve o'clock respectively, blue steel spade hands, ornately engraved case, the reverse with scalloped border surrounding flowers, scrolls and vacant cartouche, maker's mark RR of Robert Rowlands, 5 Meredith Street, case and movement numbered 14944, dial and movement signed "Ja.s Hoddell & Co.
