The name "memovox" is a combination of "memo" and "vox". There are two crowns, giving the watch a unique appearance characteristic of alarm watches. The one at 2 o'clock is for the alarm spring, and the one at 4 o'clock is for the mainspring that operates the watch. The alarm spring is wound manually by turning the crown upward at 2 o'clock, The time set for the alarm is indicated by a mark on a rotating disc inside the dial.
