Jaeger-LeCoultre Vintage ‘Duoplan’ Ladies Wristwatch from the 1930-1940s in 18K
Solid Gold. The JLC Duoplan watches were
legendary in their design and construction and achieved its world-renkowned
reputation by its smallest model the Jaeger-LeCoultre cal.101. Due to its unique double planes of
construction, this allowed for tiny movements to be robust and accurate at the
same time. Balance and escapement were
isolated on the top plane whereas rest of the train wheels and barrel are on
the bottom plane and this allowed for a much larger balance to be placed inside
a tiny mechanical movement. This
particular specimen is a high exotic model made to be a cocktail watch to have two
halves of sea-shells flanking the dial in the middle. As with all other Jaeger-LeCoultre Duoplan
watches, this vintage ladies watch is extra small in a wonderful way at 24mm
wide and 17mm tall. Inside the watch it
has a Jaeger-LeCoultre Duoplan Cal.403 that measures 20x8.7x4.5mm. Condition-wise the watch winds and runs. We have not tested the timekeeping accuracy
and being it is a vintage watch most likely it will require service if the next
owner is looking to use it regularly. We
do not offer timekeeping or any functional guarantee. Ultimately the decision to service the watch
is the sole responsibility of the end user. PLEASE DO NOT EXPOSE IT TO MOISTURE OR DIP IT IN WATER AS IT IS NOT
ASSUMED TO BE WATER RESISTANT. Cosmetically the dial has some tiny scratches which does not affect its
overall appearance since it is so small. Texts on the dial are barely observable by the naked eye. The 18K solid gold case is in excellent shape
