Description

IWC / Intern. Watch Co. Portugieser Perpetual Calendar

An elegant wristwatch with perpetual calendar, perpetual moon phase display and 7-days power reserve indicator. This Portugieser Perpetual Calendar was already launched in 2006 and is one of the most sophisticated watches IWC ever produced. Alongside the uniqueness of its functions, its simplicity of operation also makes the watch stand out from all other complicated watches. The inhouse calibre is visible through a sapphire crystal back and features an automatic Pellaton winding mechanism and a 7-day power reserve and powers a multitude of horological complications. The silvered dial has four well-arranged sub dials for date, day of the week, month and power reserve as well as the phase of the moon, which is set automatically by the date-mechanism and is thus always correct. The reduction ratio is so precise that the display will only deviate by a single day after 577 years. The year is displayed in four digits and the perpetual calendar is easily operated through the crown. The 18-carat red gold case is particularly attractive with its mirror-polished and matt surfaces, giving the perpetual calendar an exciting presence on the wrist.
