IWC Portugieser IW358303

Description

IWC Portugieser Automatic IW358303

One of the most iconic collections of IWC is the Portugieser. The name Portugieser originates from the Portuguese agents of the brand who made a request to IWC in 1939. They wanted a wristwatch with ship chronometer precision. IWC took on this request and created a total of three series. In total, approximately 675 Portugieser watches were made from 1939 to 1981. It was not until the early 1990s that the Portugieser truly became a collection. This began in 1993 with the 125th anniversary of the brand. IWC then introduced a watch inspired by the original Portugieser. The following year saw the introduction of the (double) chronograph, minute repeater, and automatic movements with and without date. This watch is a modern reinterpretation from that period. The size has been slightly modernized (40mm). This beautiful watch comes with box and papers.
