Footnotes IWC Porsche Design watches were introduced in 1978, as a collaboration between Porsche design, a design studio founded by Ferdinand Alexander Porsche the designer of the Porsche 911, and IWC, the Schaffhausen watch manufacture. The Ocean 2000, the first watch made entirely in Titanium and capable of withstanding a pressure of 200 bar was rapidly adopted by the German military "Bund" tactical divers and became a commercial success. The collaboration between the two companies lasted 20 years and many of their designs have had a tremendous influence on modern sport watches.
