Butzi Porsche had previously worked with Orfina to produce a stealthy chronograph. And with that, the all-black sports watch was born. But Orfina couldn't make the watch that Butzi really wanted to make; to push the boundaries of design and materials. After a few years, he cancelled his contract with Orfina and signed on with IWC. And together, they got to work with the Titan. And the Titan must have seemed like from the future when it came out in 1980. Back then, only spaceships, jet fighters, nuclear subs and some leading health products were made of titanium. All of a sudden, there was a whole watch with a full titanium case and bracelet. I like to think that the first purchasers of the Titan must have included the Pentagon and the Kremlin, just to figure out how IWC were able to make a consumer product, albeit a luxury one, out of titanium. And you can see why Butzi wanted to work in titanium. It weighs about half of what a similar steel watch would weigh. And even though it's 40 years old, there isn't a scratch on it. Reason for selling? I have a 1984 Porsche that I'm selling and this watch just went with the car. So with the car going, I'm letting the watch go as well. Happy to answer any questions.
