IWC Pilot Chronograph IW3741
The first flieger chrono from IWC, reference IW3741. 36mm steel case, 44 lug to lug, 18mm lug width, 16mm buckle, black dial with luminova, big screw down crown, 6ATM, a rugged classic design. It wears a bit larger due to the size of the dial and lug distance (check photos on my 16,5cm wrist and next to other watches in my collection). The case is in great condition, never polished, hence some light scratches, especially on the back. Comes with the original buckle and with an aftermarket strap. The movement is the famous caliber 631 from Jaeger-LeCoultre, one of the first mecha-quartz. The hours part is quartz and the chronograph part is mechanical, with both parts being powered by the battery. It is a practical, yet sophisticated movement with more parts (233) than most mechanical chronographs (e.g. Rolex Daytona’s caliber 4130: 201 parts). A historically relevant and top-scale quartz watch, like the Rolex OysterQuartz, the AP Royal Oak quartz, or the Patek Phillipe Golden Ellipse quartz. Precise, robust and low maintenance, a very reliable timepiece. Serviced in 2021. Fixed price: 1950 Euros + 50 Euros registered and express post to Europe.IWC Pilot Chronograph IW3741
