IWC Vintage Automatic Dress Watch VWS-2149

Here is a fabulous, all original IWC dress watch from 1966. The silver sunburst dial is in very fine condition, with the script IWC logo and a gentle and even patina. It has faceted steel chevron hour markers, double at 12 o’clock, and the characteristic spheres demarking the minutes. There is a scatter of tiny spots around the dial which aren’t visible to the naked eye. The lance hands are in very fine condition. At 3 o’clock, the steel framed window displays the date, which can be quick-set by repeatedly moving the hands from 23:45 through midnight. When the crown is pulled out for setting the time, the hack function stops the seconds hand so time can be accurately set. The stainless steel bezel is in very fine condition with only light overall wear, perhaps most notable at around 12 o’clock. The stainless steel case with the original fish crown and faceted heavy lugs is in very fine condition, with the most notable wear at the lugs. The case back is in very fine condition, with a brushed center and a polished rim showing light wear. The watch comes on an after market leather strap and buckle of good quality. Inside the watch, IWC’s superb 8541 movement with the Pellaton winding system beats strongly and accurately to within about +-12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in May 2023 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning. IWC watches are known for their timeless designs and top notch mechanics, and this watch exemplifies that. This is a watch that will serve you well for many years to come, and it fits nicely into any vintage collection. Our watches are delivered in a luxury wooden watch box, fully serviced with a 12 month warranty that covers the mechanical functioning of the watch under normal use.
