IWC Vintage Automatic Dress Watch VWS-2071

Here is a stunning, all original IWC dress watch from 1966. The silver sunburst dial is in very fine condition, with the script IWC logo and faceted steel wedge hour markers, double at 12 o’clock. There is a tiny mark at the 5 minute steel sphere and also a few spots of wear around the edge of the dial, such as at around 5 o'clock. The steel lance hands are in very fine condition. The hack stops the seconds hand when the crown is pulled out to time-setting mode, to facilitate more accurate time setting. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the date, which can be semi quick-set by first turning the hands through midnight so the date changes, then immediately turning the hands backwards to 23:45 and then forward through midnight again. Repeat as necessary. The stainless steel bezel is in very fine condition with only light overall wear. The stainless steel case with the original fish crown and faceted heavy lugs is in very fine condition, with only light overall wear. The case back is in fine condition, with a brushed center and a polished rim and some overall wear. The watch comes on an after market leather strap and buckle of good quality. Inside the watch, IWC’s superb 8541 movement with the Pellaton winding system beats strongly and accurately to within about +-12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in March 2023 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning. IWC watches are known for their timeless designs and top notch mechanics, and this watch exemplifies that. This is a watch that will serve you well for many years to come, and it fits nicely into any vintage collection. Our watches are delivered in a luxury wooden watch box, fully serviced with a 12 month warranty that covers the mechanical functioning of the watch under normal use.
