Some info about the Heuer 980.006 Jumbo 1000 diver watch:
The 980.006 comes from Heuer's dive watch line (before the merger with TAG Heuer)—in the early 1980s, usually around 1981–1984.
It is a "full size/jumbo" dive watch—the case is 42 mm, which was quite large for that time.
The case is made of stainless steel.

Historical Context
The 980.006 is the successor to Heuer's earlier 844 series of dive watches and marks the transition to production in Switzerland.
The design of the 980/844 cases (soft, rounded lugs + characteristic crown protectors) differs significantly from later 1000 series models.
These watches were quite popular when they were released — the “full size / 42 mm” size was daring for the time And today, they are prized by vintage enthusiasts for that "tool watch" aesthetic.
Because many components, such as the original quartz movement (ESA 536.121), are no longer in production, parts or maintenance can be difficult—replacements or restorations may be necessary.
Check the condition of the crown, crystal, bezel, and case (scratches, wear, sunken bezel, or replacement of parts). Older dive watches may theoretically be waterproof, but much depends on maintenance—treat them more like a vintage watch than a modern diver.
Who should consider this watch?
The Heuer 980.006 is particularly appealing to:
Vintage enthusiasts who value history and originality (pre-TAG Heuer, "old school" diver).
Those who appreciate the "tool watch" look: robust, functional, no-nonsense dive watch from the 1980s.
Collectors looking for an entry-level vintage Heuer / early 1000 series with potential.
