11304 Carerra 2447D c. 1960 The original Heuer Carrera is the definitive racing chronograph of the 60s. The very first reference was launced in 1962 and was a simple yet elegant Tricompax (three-subdial) design with an internal scale.\n\nIt is, of course, named after the legendary Carrera Panamericana race that ran between 1950 and 1954. The dangerous race only ran for five years, but was so influential that it was chosen as the watch's namesake 8 years after it ended.\n\nThe Carrera in its original format was a 36mm chronograph with elegant faceted lugs and applied baton markers and hands. It was a chronograph in its purest form, with a timeless, no-frills design. It was powered by a manually-wound Valjoux chronograph movement, known for being reliable and easy to service.
