Footnotes The Silverstone was created to be an iconic design successor for the square shaped Monaco and first appeared in the 1974 Heuer catalogue where Clay Regazzoni in a blue race suit wore a blue dial example while sitting in the Ferrari 312 T Formula 1 car. Along with the blue version, Heuer also released the model in red and 'fume'.
The current lot is a great example of the red Silverstone with the vivid hue of the dial offering a real coup for collectors. Despite their extensive catalogue of models it is only the Silverstone that Heuer ever produced with this colour dial.
As a model the Silverstone had a short product life cycle and after three years of production it was last shown in the 1977 catalogue. Heuer.
