Its name is 417 and its purpose is uncompromising use on the pilots’ wrists. For almost ten years Hanhart supplied the German armed forces with this chronograph, until the brand shifted in 1963 to the production of hand‑stopwatches. The few remaining examples of the original 417 have since become the most coveted vintage chronographs from Germany. With the new Hanhart 417 ES, whose appended letter code once again stands for stainless steel, we celebrate the return of this legendary wrist‑mounted stopwatch.
