A second iteration soon followed, produced as a unique series of six pieces, with the regulating organs positioned in different three-dimensional planes and inclined at 35°. In 2016, Greubel Forsey unveiled the invention in its current, double-patented form: two independent balance wheels inclined at 30°, linked by a spherical constant differential that calculates their average timing rate. The present creation, the Double Balancier Convexe, represents the Manufacture’s most contemporary interpretation of this invention, a highly technical and modern expression of fine watchmaking housed in a distinctive titanium and carbon fiber case. This configuration preserves Greubel Forsey’s hallmark technical triptych, complemented by bridges and mainplate crafted entirely in titanium, including the central bridge supporting the hour and minute display. The layered carbon fiber case, composed of sheets set at alternating angles, enhances its visual depth and individuality while ensuring water resistance to 50 meters. The refined case proportions provide exceptional comfort on the wrist, upholding Greubel Forsey’s commitment to ergonomics and uncompromising finishing quality. Offered with its full set, this example, number 1 of a limited edition of 22, presents a rare opportunity to acquire one of Greubel Forsey’s most technically ambitious and aesthetically forward-looking creations, a powerful, contrasting, and distinctly contemporary timepiece that embodies the brand’s ongoing pursuit of horological innovation.
