It was the mountain's landscape and the melting snow in spring that provided the starting point for this unique dial. The light blue dial, with its distinctive, organic texture, evokes the snowy surface of Mount Iwate as winter transitions into spring. It must be admitted that Grand Seiko remains an absolute master of dial design—their philosophy of closeness to nature is authentic and consistent, and the watches themselves are "Japanese" in the best possible sense of the word. At the heart of the model is the modern Hi-Beat 36000 movement with an impressive 80-hour power reserve, visible through the transparent caseback." The case is crafted from the exclusive Ever-Brilliant steel alloy, which the manufacturer claims is 1.7 times more corrosion-resistant than standard steel used in watchmaking.
