Graham is an exclusive brand that originated from the renown watchmaker Georges Graham in 1695 in London. His contributions to watchmaking included the cylinder escapement, the stop-watch, the mercurial pendulum and deadbeat escapement. The Graham brand lived for 300 years then disappeared. The brand was revived in 1995 by a group of Swiss and British watchmakers loyal to the brand. The Chronofighter is unique to Graham and has crown on the left hand side of the case with a trigger switch covering it giving it a highly mechanical appearance. The Chronofighter mechanism was introduced during the 2nd World War so that pilots of the famous Lancaster Bombers could wear the watch on their left wrist over their mitten gloves and still use their thumb to start the stop watch when on their bombing runs. This was purchased in 2022 from The Swiss Collector via Chrono 24. As a passionate aficionado of the Graham watch brand, this watch was worn sparingly for special occasions. The only signs of wear are a noticabke scratch light scratch mark on the right lower lug, a faint barely noticeable scratch on the crystal between 11 and 12 o’clock and a little wear around the bezel. All three defects have been photographed. The watch functions well and keeps time. The Graham Chronofighter is a great ice-breaker at social functions as it is truly unique and a testimony to mechanical watch making.
