Girard Perregaux 1966 Blue Moon

The Girard-Perregaux 1966 Blue Moon is a contemporary interpretation of the brand’s classic 1966 collection, combining refined aesthetics with modern technical execution. The watch features a 40 mm stainless steel case that is micro-blasted and coated with black DLC, creating a matte, understated finish. An anti-reflective sapphire crystal protects the dial, which presents a blue degradé surface that transitions from deep black at the edges to a rich royal blue at the centre. The dial layout includes hours, minutes, central seconds, a date window, and a moon-phase display positioned at 6 o’clock, offering balanced symmetry and clear legibility. Powering the watch is the automatic manufacture caliber GP03300-0115, visible through a sapphire caseback. The movement consists of 276 components, including 27 jewels, operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour, and provides a power reserve of approximately 46 hours, while maintaining a slim profile of 4.8 mm. The watch is fitted with a rubberised alligator strap featuring a matte black exterior and matte blue interior. Overall, the 1966 Blue Moon presents a restrained, technically accomplished design rooted in Girard-Perregaux’s heritage of high-frequency movements and refined watchmaking.
