A 18k yellow gold automatic chronograph wristwatch. With a certificate dated 1991, a presentation case
Limited edition to 140 ex, n° 64/160, ordered by Enzo Ferrari to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Ferrari 125S and its first Formula 1 victory
In 1929, Enzo Ferrari founded the Scuderia Ferrari in Modena. After a difficult start under the control of Alfa Romeo and the World War during which Ferrari had to deviate from its activity to manufacture machine tools, La Scuderia returned to its primary activity in 1945 and produced its first car in 1947, the Ferrari 125S, with which she won her first world championship in Formula 1 the same year.
The year 1947 marks the beginning of Ferrari glory, a symbolic year to which Enzo Ferrai wished to pay homage by producing a pilot's watch in yellow gold. Limited to 140 pieces and numbered on the oscillating weight, this watch was offered as a gift to pilots, friends and collaborators of the brand.
This watch is certainly one of the last "projects" that Enzo Ferrari made a point of realizing before dying the following year, in 1988.
