Journe's remarkable creativity and craftsmanship are evident not only in his innovative complications but also in his choice of case materials, which are integral to his works of art. One of Journe's most sought-after watches on the current market is the Chronomètre Bleu. Crafted in tantalum, it has a weight comparable to platinum and is notoriously difficult to work with. Tantalum is not often employed in watch construction, but the payoff is extreme hardness and wear-resistance, as well as the uniquely blue cast of the metal. While the case itself is built to the extreme, it is also a perfect size for a modern dress watch with a diameter of 39 mm and a trim case thickness suitable for everyday wear.
