Eterna Matic Steel 1957 Vintage Original Black Dial Automatic Cal. 1426U Fully Serviced
Beautiful Eterna-Matic vintage, interesting timepiece manufactured in 1957, when Eterna was one of the great Swiss watch houses of the avant-garde of watchmaking. This Eterna-Matic has been recently serviced and it is in excellent working condition. Please, look at the photos to judge the condition of the watch by yourself. Remember details are magnified in high resolution pictures and many of them are not visible to the eye. DIAL Original signed dial, glossy finish, unrestored. Excellent condition, no visible damage. The golden hand set is in very good condition. The seconds hand shows some signs of aging. CASE Stainless steel case in original condition, signed. It measures 34,5 mm in diameter excluding the original signed crown. The serial number is stamped on the case-back in thin, shallow numbers. It's hard to see in the pictures, but it is there. The case has scratches and marks due to its age. There is also some corrosion in the area of the case that is in contact with the rubber gasket that seals the case-back, but it is hardly noticeable to the naked eye. MOVEMENT This watch features the in-house 1426U caliber, an automatic movement, beautifully finished and preserved in its original condition. This movement was introduced in 1953 and is an excellent example of the high quality of the golden age of watchmaking. It has been recently serviced, fully cleaned and oiled. Please note this is a vintage watch, don't expect the accuracy of a quartz watch. Accuracy can vary around +/- 30 seconds per day. Please note that this is a delicate mechanisms and it may need adjustment after travel. BAND The watch comes on a NOS (new old stock) Kreisler vintage strap, a high-quality watch band in mint condition, never used. It is made of genuine lizard leather, very smooth, flexible and ready to use. Please note that the band is a courtesy, I include it because I think it is the perfect complement to this very special watch.
