This is a rare center sweep “Doctor’s Watch” , with only approximately 4,000 examples ever produced , making it a highly desirable piece for collectors of early American horology. Housed in a 16-size yellow gold filled hunter case , the watch features a beautifully detailed equestrian scene depicting a horse jumping a fence on the case cover. The case remains in very good condition , showing well-preserved detail and minimal wear for its age. The watch is fitted with a classic white porcelain dial with Roman numerals and elegant Breguet hands , all in very good condition . Powering the watch is a 16-jewel Elgin Grade 84 movement , lever set with a nickel finish and ¾-plate layout. The signed movement is in very good condition , reflecting Elgin’s renowned craftsmanship of the late 19th century.
