ELGIN POCKET WATCH W/ 14K GOLD BROOKLYN CASE

Elgin Watch Company (1864-1968). 1877 pocket watch, bearing serial number 517284, set in a 14k Brooklyn Case Company full hunter case, dial cover is adorned with a finely detailed depiction of a mountain village and a bridge over a river, while the reverse side features a bouquet of flowers, both designs are highlighted with black and silver enameling against a guilloche-like background. The pictorials are framed within a lidded vase and floral motifs, watch comes in its original burl-veneered storage box, which features a white cartouche on the cover and a working push-button opener. Approx dimensions: watch h. 2.375" to top of bow to case bottom, w. 1.125�, d. .5�; box l. 4.375�, w 3.3125�, d. 1.25�; watch weight 64.16g.
