Description

Ebel Discovery in Steel and Rose Gold ref. 04.3.15.1094

In the male-dominated world of watches, Ebel is a remarkable exception. The brand was founded by a man and a woman, the couple Eugène Blum and Alice Lévy. The chosen brand name, registered on July 15, 1911, in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, is formed by the initials of Eugène Blum Et Lévy, or 'EBEL'. Ebel quickly made a name for itself as a manufacturer of decorative jewelry watches. In October 1929, son Charles Blum joined the company, and together with watchmaker Marcel Reuche, he further refined the production process. The qualities of Ebel soon gained recognition outside Switzerland, and during World War II, the brand became a supplier to the British Royal Air Force. Over its more than 100 years of existence, Ebel has developed a number of exceptional timepieces and watches that have made the brand world-famous. The SporEbel Classique from 1977 is particularly legendary.
