The first delivery was of the present reference was famously spotted on the wrist of basketball legend Michael Jordan, who owns the case number 23 in line with his iconic Chicago Bulls jersey number. The present timepiece is numbered 9 out of a limited series of only 50 pieces.
The case of the present watch is crafted in sleek black zirconium, a lightweight, robust, hypoallergenic and scratch-resistant material offering superior strength and reliability.
The centre of the dial is adorned with De Bethune’s iconic microlight pattern which resonates with the microlight decoration on the case middle, and interestingly reminds one of the “samon” sand raking pattern found in a Japanese zen garden, invoking the meditative image of calm rippling waters.
Powered by the automatic calibre AUTOv2, the watch is also an impressive marvel of finesse and technology, featuring several De Bethune patented in-house developed innovations, including a titanium balance wheel with white gold inserts, balance spring with flat terminal curve, and optimized oscillating weight in titanium and white gold, with the escapement delightfully visible via the case back.
Hailing from the collection of a Japanese collector, the present Titan Hawk JPS reference DB27V2JPS is preserved in superb overall condition and is complete with its original certificate and accessories.
