Daniel Roth Extra Plat Automatic C107 / 2107 Ellipsocurvex 1st Generation 18k WG

Founded in 1989 as one of the early entrants within the modern field of independent watchmaking, Daniel Roth is a watchmaker that quickly gained the plaudits of industry insiders and collectors alike thanks to their stunning creations, fine watchmaking, and dedication to artisanal crafts. With an impressive array of high complication timepieces under their belt, the brand was acquired by BVLGARI in 2000 as the famed Italian jeweler made their way into the watchmaking industry, a move that has since paid off. A cult icon still to this day, Daniel Roth symbolizes the majesty within a unique and distinctive aesthetic - an aesthetic that continues to make their timepieces beloved by collectors around the globe. Here we have a stunning Daniel Roth C107 from the early 1990s, the brand’s first foray into automatic movements. Powered by the Frederic Piguet cal. 71 movement, one of the thinnest automatic movements ever produced, the C107’s 18kt white gold case is known as the ‘extra plat’ which means extra flat in French. Boasting a stunning two-tone silver and grey dial with vertical pinstripe guilloche, concentric engraving along the chapter rings and Roman numeral hour markers, this dial is filled with Daniel Roth’s signature aesthetic while still breaking from convention as a wonderful piece of early independent watchmaking.
