The independent brand led by master watchmaker Daniel Roth was born in 1987, when, after years of experience first in Audemars Piguet and subsequently distinguishing himself for the relaunch of Breguet, he decided to focus his energies on a personal project.
In 1991, Daniel Roth created a limited series of Monopusher chronographs, with only 36 pieces in yellow gold and an even rarer number of 16 in platinum, like the watch presented here.
The dial alternates a refined guilloché workmanship with satin-finished surfaces, such as the ring with Roman indexes, creating an effect of depth and refinement. This feature is further enhanced by the double ellipse case, a distinctive stylistic feature of the brand.
In this case, the movement is a Lemania 2220, a vintage caliber from the 1930s that the master Roth managed to integrate perfectly into his creation, finishing it according to the highest standards of haute horlogerie, with chamfered corners and numerous mirror-polished components.
This piece perfectly embodies the philosophy and genius of Daniel Roth, who was able to express himself freely especially in those early years, before some shares of the brand were sold.
